Medicine is change

Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda are beautifully organized traditions of medicine for the body/mind/spirit which explains nature’s flow in everything including the human body, individual and universal consciousness.  These concepts encompass all life, and are not limited to one culture.  We believe at the heart of these traditions is understanding wellness for human kind.  Our hope and belief is that we can each find within ourselves a resonance with Nature, and come to know the heart of these teachings: that in fact, we are Nature, too.  At the same time, we urge each of us to examine the ways in which we benefit from the great privilege of access to these teaching and many other global wisdom traditions and to explore ways in which we might offer respect and reciprocity towards those whose cultures so deeply benefit us.  With respect for their roots, humility and awareness of the history, and commonly misunderstood cultural appropriation, we participate in sharing the importance of these traditions because we believe it can help individuals, families, thus the world.  We are committed to keeping love and inclusion at the heart of this work.

Molly Holmlund

Molly Holmlund is an artist, ink maker, and art educator living in the Columbia River Gorge. Fascinated by the process of hand making inks. Her work reveals a closer look into the multiple connections in nature, through extracting and applying color from plants and minerals.

The use of natural materials creates a unique alchemy in the inks, allowing a different way of mixing and layering than traditional paints.  This brings a sense of collaborating with the material, all while letting nature speak for itself.

Molly keeps the forms simple, as to not distract from the nuances in the layers and color itself. She is drawn towards what lays in between, the negative spaces created by various layers of the overlapping ink.

The results are gestural marks that are expressive of both the materials and herself.Fascinated by the process of hand-making ink, her work reveals a closer look into the many connections in nature. You can follow Molly on Instagram @mollyholmlund and visit her website Foraged Ink.
